The 'Stop Rosebank' case comes to the Court of Session on 12 November

02 November 2024

It’s not long now until the long-awaited hearing of the Rosebank court case in Edinburgh – the showdown between a liveable future for all vs oil and gas industry profits.  Thanks to your support, we’re now on the home stretch to stopping Rosebank for good.  This is a moment to rally and celebrate wherever you are.

Last year, the previous UK government made the disastrous decision to approve the development of the Rosebank oil field—the largest undeveloped oil field in the North Sea.  This, at a time when scientists and experts have warned time and time again that we cannot have any new oil and gas to stay within ‘safe’ climate limits.

But now, with your help, we have a real chance to reverse this decision. We believe that the approval of Rosebank was unlawful, and are going to court to prove it. Alongside Greenpeace, we will be in Edinburgh’s Court of Session from 12th to 15th November to challenge the approval of Rosebank.

Here’s what’s coming up and how you can get involved
