Black Isle Bicycles
*July 2025
Now we are partnering up with Kenneth Adam and have a new shed funded by HIE’s Cycle Tourism Fund. We’re all ready to go for the school holiday period with bikes bookable via the same booking system which we are using for the Library of Things.
They are now available to reserve here. There are also a couple of bikes already available at the Library of Things here .
We’re also looking at longer term hire for locals, particularly people seeing if a folding bike or an ebike will work for their regular journeys before they buy. Or people using them as a short term solution to a commuting issue. You first need to join as a member of the Library of Things.
Black Isle Bicycles is a company owned by Transition Black Isle which received start-up funding from the Coastal Communities Fund in March 2014. Black Isle Bicycles offers bike hire through partners on the Black Isle. We have hybrid bikes which will take you on or off road in comfort and also have some electric assist bikes.
The original funding to Black Isle Bicycles allowed the preparation of The Black Isle Active Travel Map now in its fourth Edition, and the creation of the Beauly Firth Cycle Loop.
