Wind Farm proposal for Cnoc Ceislein

06 September 2024

Renewables company RWE has revealed proposals for a 20 turbine wind farm development on Cnoc Ceislein, behind Evanton.  At this stage they have submitted a 'scoping' planning application, which is a means of determining what information the planning authority requires them to submit in an Environmental Impact Assessment to accompany a subsequent full planning Application.

So the proposal is at an early stage, but the proposed wind farm, with up to 20 turbines with a maximum blade tip height 0f 250m, would have a significant impact on the local area and would be visible from many points on the Black Isle.

Full details of the application can be seen by entering the planning reference  24/03524/SCOP   in the search box on Highland Council's ePlanning web page  https://wam.highland.gov.uk/wam/ .

Documents available there include a location and site layout plan and 'photomontage' views from various places including Culbokie.
