TBI Convenor featured in P & J 'Your Life' magazine

14 March 2021

TBI Convenor Julian Paren is one of three environmental activists featured in the 'Your Life' magazine supplement of Saturday's Press & Journal.  In an interview with Ellie House, Julian reviews the activities of TBI over the years, including Million Miles and energy saving events, the enduring success of Potato Day, even in this year's modified form, the growth of village sharing sheds as part of the community response to Covid-19, and our part in the Highland Good Food Conversation.  He also highlights our support for active travel through our publication of the Active Travel Map and promotion of the Avoch to Drumderfit Active Travel Link.  Julian concludes by emphasising the urgent and overriding need to reduce our carbon footprint and carbon emissions by every means possible.

The other environmental activists featured in the magazine are Alison Stewart, co-founder of Aberdeen Climate Action, which has organised the ambitious series of events comprising Climate Week North East 21, currently in progress until 21 March; and Peter Cairns, Executive Director of Scotland: The Big Picture, which is working to counter the sometimes negative perception of rewilding, and promote it as enhancing biodiversity and enabling people and nature to work together.
