Just Do It - A tale of modern day outlaws comes to Inverness on 13 August

10 August 2011

From the same team who made Age of Stupid comes a new film about environmental direct action.  The film will be shown at Eden Court at 8pm on 13 August, and - as at the Age of Stupid - there will be a chance to ask questions of the director.

Take One Action, who have produced the film, has limited networks in Inverness, but this is an opportunity to engage people with issues and opportunities around environmental sustainability as part of Take One Action's Green Shoots strand.

Via G20 protests, climate camps, power station shutdowns and UN meetings, the world of environmental direct action in the UK has rarely been off the front pages in recent years. With unprecedented access, Emily James gets inside the largely youth-driven movement that has threatened to bring down police forces, politicians, multinational corporations and the media all in the name of climate change. Revealing and at the same time complicit, Just Do It takes you into the heart of the action to provoke, inspire and entertain.

“Rousing stuff ****” Empire
“Smart, funny, adrenalised portrait of 21st-century activism” The Guardian

All the screenings listed below will be followed by Q&A with director Emily James, plus at Edinburgh and Aberdeen with national climate change campaigners Dan Glass (Plane Stupid), Liz Murray (World Development Movement Scotland), and Robin Parker (NUS Scotland).
