SET THE AGENDA FOR RESILIENCE IN THE FACE OF ENERGY CHAOS

04 January 2011

We've lined up a great panel of local politicians and business people to tackle how we can prosper in the face of uncertain energy provision, so make sure you come along to Fortrose Theatre at 7.30 p.m. on Friday 14th January.

How long can we rely on oil for heating and transport? Should we rely on other countries to supply our fuel? If oil supplies become uncertain, how can we keep the supermarket shelves full? Questions from the audience will be put to the panel by journalist and broadcaster Louise Batchelor. This is a great opportunity to put some of our movers and shakers on the spot - the panel will be made up of:

  • Rob Gibson MSP (SNP)
  • John MacKay – Labour Scottish Parliament candidate for Caithness
  • Dr Mandy Meikle – Peak Oil Campaigner
  • Cllr Ian Ross – Chair of Highland Council Planning, Environment and Development Committee
  • Neil Sutherland – Highlands based Ecological Architect, local timber processor, builder and entrepreneur
  • David Whiteford OBE – Easter Ross farmer, Director of Scottish Food Quality Certification and of Rowett Research Institute.
