Our Gardeners’ Question Time has become a popular annual event in the calendar, and this year’s will be at Tore Village Hall on Friday 18th January, starting at 7.30 pm. The panel of experts will comprise Jo Hunt from Knockfarrel Produce, JJ Gladwin of Black Isle Garden Design and Graham Sullivan, Secretary of the Black Isle Horticultural Society. Between them they have a huge wealth of experience of growing fruit, flowers and veg, so do take the opportunity to come along and pick their brains. The event will be free, although we appreciate donations towards the cost. As usual, we will also have the first outing for our seed swap – with lots of seeds from a variety of sources, some donated, some saved by local growers. If you have your own seeds to swap, either bring them along on the night, or, even better, join up with some more of our volunteers who will be getting together on Sunday 13th January at 2.30 pm, at Martin & Penny’s house in Culbokie, to package up the seeds. Contact Martin (martin@pennyandmartin.co.uk, 01349 877822) for directions.
All welcome, refreshments will be available, donations welcomed.

Full House at Gardeners' Question Time
Around fifty people packed Tore Village Hall on Friday night for TBI's 2018 Gardeners' Question Time and Seed Swap - the biggest-ever audience at this popular annual event.
A panel consisting of JJ Gladwin, garden designer at Old Allangrange, Jo Hunt, local grower at Knockfarrel Produce, and Graham Sullivan, Secretary of the Black Isle Horticultural Society answered questions on a range of subjects with a mixture of expertise, common sense and humour.
Questions were followed by excellent refreshments and a chance to browse the well-stocked seed swap and Transition literature tables.
Thanks are due to the panel, organisers Martin Sherring, Lesley Robb, Julie Shortreed and Anne Thomas, baking contributors, seed packagers and everybody who attended.
