Location: Cromarty | I am sorry, I have only just picked up on Martin's post about a garden share in N kessock. We also have several people keen to share gardens in / near Cromarty but despite advertising them to Cromarty Allotment and Gardens Society members and via a poster in the post office window we have so far not found anyone interested in them. Anyone interested please contact me - jwood42@gmail.com
Cromarty Allotments and Gardens Society is now going from strength to strength. We have signed a 50 year lease with the Cromarty estate for the former tennis courts site and clearing it will start shortly. There will be a fairly small number of relatively small plots (9m x 9m) and a few half plots, available to members of the Society in the first instance. We have been negotiating for more plots to become available as part of the Sandilands housing development shortly. We have also now established a Community Orchard in the garden of Cromarty Courthouse Museum, though of course it will take a year or two for there to be much fruit. And we have now taken over the Forsyth House flower beds in the middle of Cromarty with initial grant aid from Highland Council and further funding from Cromarty Community Council. These will be converted to be both attractive and productive with soft fruit and herbs , while retaining some of the existing shrubs.
