SCCAN online discussion - how to talk about Climate Change

13 August 2024, Starts: 12:00, Ends: 13:00

Tuesday 13 August  12.00 - 1.00     online

Join a lunchtime workshop to explore how to talk about climate change amongst family and friends… without jeopardising relationships.

Climate change is a topic that almost everyone is aware of – so why can it be so difficult to start a conversation with people we see every day? Communicating our hopes and fears, whilst giving room to another person’s thoughts and feelings can be tricky.

In this one hour session we’ll look at some strategies for bringing up the topic of climate change with family, friends and colleagues. There’s no single or easy answer – so if you’ve found something that’s worked for you come and share it with us!

The session is fully interactive, with a short presentation, time to share different approaches and a chance to practice what you learn.

About the presenter: Kirsty Heron is Programme Lead for SCCAN's Climate for Change programme.  She is motivated by ways of communicating that build bridges between people to find common ground.
