Another packed newsletter from Skye Climate Action
04 August 2022
Far from August being the month when things go quiet and not much happens, we have just received a long newsletter from Skye Climate Action, with accounts of their wide range of activities and links to lots of related information. We'll give an idea of this by copying their list of contents
- Healthy homes for Skye and Lochalsh
- Job: Climate Network Coordinator
- New health food van
- Portree allotments
- South Skye Electrical Amnesty
- Highland Community Waste Partnership
- Waste Not Wednesdays
- Skye Cycle Way
- Transport campaigning workshop
- Scottish Communities Climate Action Network events
- Working together for climate resilience in the Highlands
- Tree Hugging championships
- Earth Overshoot Day
- The plastic crisis in UK
Several items are related to the idea of the circular economy and community climate resilience, including their popular 'Waste not Wednesday' swap shops and electrical recycling. Under the Waste Partnership heading there's a new composting guide from Lochaber Environmental Group and TBI, and a link to the Scottish Government consultation on a Circular Economy Bill, with a convenient way to sypport the case for a strong bill made in a policy paper by Circular Communities Scotland.
