Garden Challenges from Black Isle Horticultural Society

17 July 2020

Graham Sullivan, Secretary of BIHS, writes

We're facing up to the disappointment that The Black Isle Horticultural Society Summer Show in Rosemarkie has been cancelled. We’ve already run some successful online Lockdown competitions, that you may have participated in. Now we’re going to have seven online Challenges that finish on the day our Show would have been held, Saturday 8th August. Some of them relate to our show schedule.

Each day until the 25th July we’ll be posting these Challenges on our website http://www.spanglefish.com/blackislehorticulturalsociety/ and on our Facebook page. You can enter by sending your photos to bihs1955@gmail.com

No entry fees and no prizes, it’s just for fun (and glory!). However, the winner of Challenge 1 will feature in our 2021 Show Schedule, and a cup will be awarded for the final challenge.

All entries must arrive by 10am on Show day, Saturday 8th August, and judging should be completed by 2pm, when our Show would usually open to the public.

Please have a look at our website or Facebook and have a go at some of the online challenges. Good luck, and hopefully you’ll be able to enter some real flowers, veg, cakes and crafts when we return to our Show in the real world in August 2021!
