RENEW are hosting a RENEWABLE ENERGY AND HEAT FAIR
in the Nevis Centre, Fort William on 19th March, 2011.

FREE ENTRY

To date, 15 companies and 7 communities and energy-sector groups have booked stands.

Electricity generating technologies include small-scale wind turbines, hydropower and solar PV, all of which are now elibible for the Government's Feed In Tariff payments.

The heat generating technologies include heat pumps (air and ground source), biomass and solar thermal which should shortly attract payments from the Government's proposed Renewable Heat Incentive scheme.

As well as stands, there will be 90-minute workshops for each of the six technologies and opportunities to sit down and chat with Lochaber householders who have experience of having had these technologies installed in their own homes.

The Fair will be open to the public from 9.30 am and formally opened by Rt. Hon. Charles Kennedy MP at 10 am and will close at 5 pm.

The workshop schedule is:
10.30 am – 12 noon Hydropower workshop
10.30 am – 12 noon Heat pumps workshop
1.00 – 2.30 pm Wind power workshop
1.00 – 2.30 pm Solar thermal workshop
3.00 – 4.30 pm Solar Photovoltaic workshop
3.00 – 4.30 pm Biomass workshop
