Grow North 2022 Workshop 1
- organisation:
- Transition Black Isle
09 April 2022, Starts: 10:30, Ends: 12:30
Planting a Native Hedge
Venue : Findon Hall, Culbokie
Time: 10.30-12.30 (approx finish)
Coffee/tea during introductory discussion part of session.
Cost : donation of £5-£10 per person
The workshop will include introductory input and discussion about appropriate saplings for hedging, appropriate time of year for planting, different methods and approaches. Trish McKeggie, the tutor, is local and ran a tree nursery for many years so is well versed in tree planting, growing and care, and hedging. There’ll be lots of opportunity to ask questions to learn from her wisdom.
The practical element will involve planting the first section of a new native hedge on the community hall grounds, so contributing to a local community enterprise. The full hedge will be finished off by local volunteers.
There will also be the opportunity to see a mature native hedge just a couple of minutes walk from the hall.
