BIHS Spring Plant Sale
28 May 2022, Starts: 10:30, Ends: 13:00
Saturday 28 May 10.30 - 1.00
outside the Gordon Memorial Hall Rosemarkie
26 May latest update from Graham Sullivan
Only a couple of days until our Plant Sale on the grass outside Gordon Memorial Hall, Rosemarkie. We’ve had many generous and interesting donations of plants from members and friends, and you can download a list of plants from our website http://www.spanglefish.com/blackislehorticulturalsociety/
There will also be a supplementary list posted today, and there will be other plants as well - people always bring more along for sale on the day.
This year we can accept payment by card as well as cash.
We’ll put more plants out on the stalls during the sale, so we hope to have a good selection whenever you arrive.
We will have a supply of boxes and bags, but it will be really helpful if you can bring your own to take plants away. If you’re coming by car please park in the public car park off the main street in Rosemarkie in order to leave the Hall parking available for those with limited mobility and for deliveries. Note that the Hall toilets will not be available, but the public toilets close by in the main street are open.
And finally, if you know anyone who would be interested in the sale but might not know about it, please tell them.
Hope to see you on Saturday,
Graham.

The Black Isle Horticultural Society will hold its Spring Plant Sale on 28 May. BIHS Secretary Graham Sullivan has sent an update on this event
Our Plant Sale last year in Rosemarkie was very successful, with many people coming along to buy a wide range of plants, so we’re following the same format this year. It will still be an outdoors event, but we won’t need to have the same Covid safeguards in place. This is a chance to buy plants grown locally by interested gardeners, so as well as common ones, you’ll be able to find some special plants, including herbaceous, alpines, wild flowers to make your own meadow, native trees, currant and gooseberry bushes, tomatoes for the greenhouse, and some unusual vegetables. As we did last year, we’ll put a list of plants available on our website about 10 days before the Sale.
The sale is an important fund-raising event for the Society, and if you can help by donating any plants as well as coming along to buy some, that will be very much appreciated. It would be helpful if you could let us know in advance (bihs1955@gmail.com or 07486 660544) if you’re bringing plants, so we can make arrangements. If you’re able to, it’s also really helpful if you can label plants that you bring along- it doesn’t have to be fancy, labels made from strips cut off a yogurt pot are fine, and writing the name on a strip of masking tape stuck to the pot works as well.
Also, if you know someone who would be interested in the sale but isn’t online, please let them know about it.
You can find more details on our regularly updated Facebook page or on our website http://www.spanglefish.com/blackislehorticulturalsociety/
Regards,
Graham.
