From 23 December Trail maps will be available free at Culbokie Spar shop or from the website  here .

This year the trail will be in Glascairn Woods and will be open from Saturday, December 23rd to Sunday, January 7th, when residents and visitors are encouraged to spot trees that have been specially adorned with a variety of environmentally friendly decorations. Besides at least 12 trees decorated by Ferintosh Volunteers, five local groups have ‘adopted’ trees for which they have been busy creating their own decorations. We are impressed with the enthusiasm of the children from P3 and P4, Culbokie Primary, from Culbokie After School Club, Culbokie Beavers, Fortrose Girl Guides and P4 and P5 from Resolis Primary.

Pedestrians will be able to access Glascairn Woods from various entry points, but if you are driving, then please park at Glascairn Woods Car Park about 1km up Glascairn Road (on the right before the Forestry and Land Scotland depot), and not at the Spar car park which is reserved for customers only, nor on the signed gravelled path for Glascairn Wood which is a private road for residents only.

Trail maps are free and will be available from December 23rd to pick up from Culbokie Spar or to access from Culbokie Community Trust website. We hope that the decorated Christmas Trees will make you smile on your winter walk through the woods.

We are part of the rapidly expanding worldwide Transition Towns movement. The Black Isle is a peninsula of about 100 sq miles ENE of Inverness in Scotland, UK.
