'Get your Community Growing' Workshop - Seed Saving Inverness Botanics
27 August 2023, Starts: 12:00, Ends: 15:00
Sunday 27 August 12.00 - 3.00 Inverness Botanic Gardens
Join us for a seed saving workshop at the Inverness Botanic Gardens with Finlay from the wonderful Seeds of Scotland! We will have a presentation covering basic terminology and techniques, a practical demonstration of a seed cleaning machine and a group discussion and Q&A.
We'll also enjoy a 'Good Food Movement' walk and talk around the gardens, sharing community growing experience and ideas.
Light refreshments made with seasonal, local produce will be provided.
Seed saving is a vital tool for community growing groups to save money, develop locally adapted strains of favourite plants and bring people in the community together to share varieties.
Feel free to bring any seeds or seedlings to swap if you wish!
TRAVEL: We have a small budget available to help with travel costs. Please get in touch with us if cost of travel is a barrier to you being able to attend and we will be able to help.
