Most interesting your comments on Munlochy car park, Anne, I'd like to generalise...

There's quite a lot of informal car share / park and ride going on, I've noticed various locations - especially near the A9 - where cars park up then presumably share transport into Inverness or wherever.

That's good, but does infringe on local parking for transient users in places like Munlochy. It would be even better if bikes were used, and that may need facilities to enable.

Your idea of questionnaires on windscreens is excellent, heck we might even use to recruit to TBI ;-)) but it will need a bit of thought and discussion to make it perfect I'd guess.

I'd like us to devise ways of encouraging car and lift sharing, making people more comfortable with hitch-hiking (giving and receiving), and generally making local locomotion without one's own powered vehicle more reliably possible.

What we really need is a couple or three folks to grab this ball and start a TBI transport group, I know all our active members are just too stretched at the moment. I know you're out there...

We are part of the rapidly expanding worldwide Transition Towns movement. The Black Isle is a peninsula of about 100 sq miles ENE of Inverness in Scotland, UK.
