The headline's a bit misleading - what it means is that cost-effective energy efficiency measures could save the amount of power produced by 22 power stations. Quite a lot of the proposed measures (e.g. using heat pumps for space heating) would use less energy, but more electricity - so we'll need more power stations, not less. | |
