HITRANS Low Carbon Transport event

Partners from across the Highlands are coming together to put on a Low Carbon Transport event in Inverness in the run up to COP26.

HITRANS, the regional transport partnership, are working with Highlands & Islands Enterprise, NHS Highland, Inverness College UHI, Highlands & Islands Students’ Association, The Highland Council and other local partners. 

Planning is underway for the event to take place at Inverness Campus from 12 – 4pm on Friday 29th October.  

The event will allow local organisations to showcase low carbon transport such as E-bikes, E-vehicles, and hydrogen bus to students, local businesses and the general public.  Hi-Bike, a new bike share scheme developed by HITRANS will also be promoted following its soft launch on 1st October.  

The event will include: 

Active Travel

  • Hi-Bike (electric bike share) info and promotions, including discounted student membership
  • HITRANS eCargo Bike Library info and have a go
  • NHS Highland pool ebikes

Hydrogen Technology

  • HITRANS hydrogen bus demonstrator vehicle
  • Highland Council hydrogen light vehicles – Van and car
  • Highland Council hydrogen heavy vehicles – Bin Lorry, Road Sweeper

EVs

  • NHS Highland electric van
  • Enterprise Car Club electric car

Student Focus (HISA)

  • Dr Bike Session with Velocity
  • Record your safe cycling route with a gopro on e-bikes.
