The Wildlife Trusts ask

“How can a better understanding of nature help us build resilient economies and achieve sustainable prosperity for all? Join Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta of Cambridge University and Craig Bennett, Chief Executive of The Wildlife Trusts, as they discuss the findings of the recently published review on the Economics of Biodiversity and what should happen next.

The Review, led by Professor Dasgupta and commissioned by HM Treasury, is the first of its kind and shows that rather than fuelling economic development, our current activity from infrastructure to unsustainable farming practices and pollution, is eroding the very foundation on which our economy sits, putting at risk the prosperity of future generations.

The opportunities that investing in nature presents are huge – and the chance to lead a change in thinking and policy across the world is one our Government should not miss.”
