Food Group and Potato Day organiser
Julie's professional background was in careers guidance in Kent, latterly in the training and development of new staff. She also pursued an interest in spirituality.
Attending an intensive course on Earth Literacy at Genesis Farm, New Jersey, several years ago was a wake up call to what is happening to our planet and since then she has been trying to live out the implications of that awakening. She first heard of Transition Towns there, and she also first heard of Joanna Macy there.
Originally a native of Inverness she moved back north, is now in Munlochy where she is endeavouring to establish a lifestyle with respect for the earth, which currently includes creating a vegetable and fruit garden. She is fascinated by strawbale building, a sustainable, energy efficient way of building.
She volunteers at The Coach House, Kilmuir, a small local retreat centre, and offers workshops in 'The Work That Reconnects'.
