The survey highlighted the fact that quite a few respondents (who were mostly TBI members) would be glad of more practical gardening advice, and we are considering how we might be able to provide this. It is possible, for example, that people involved with the Community Gardens, or other gardening experts among our members might be able to run a regular feature in the newsletter or on the website along the lines of 'What to do in the garden this month'.

The main purpose of this post, in the meantime, is to highlight the fact that there is already a large amount of gardening information available to read or download on the website, which some members may not be aware of. From the website top menu go to Resources / Document library, and open the 'Grow North' folder. Among the documents available are separate chapters from TBI's printed Grow North Growing Guide, which some members may have seen or bought (it costs £10 for members, and is excellent value). The chapters include one on the garden month by month, but unfortunately this is not currently available owing to a technical problem which we are working on. The chapter on preserving is also not available at the moment.

So do take a few minutes to look at the information available on the website, especially if you didn't know it was there! Whatever aspect of gardening you are interested in I am sure you will find something useful.

The 'Garden month by month' chapter from the Grow North Growing Guide is now available in the website document library (Resources / Document library / Grow North / Grow North Manual).
