Do you fancy eating local food in good company?
Dine at mine is a flexible local eating experience where you can catch up with some old friends and maybe make some new ones.
This is how it might work--
Anyone can put an invitation up on the forum eg date, time and give an idea of menu eg veggie, non veggie, 1,2 3 courses and how many being catered for . After that it will be up to people to sign up . It may be a good way of involving non tbi friends. I envisage it would be up to potential cooks to decide on details like BYOB.
I see it a convivial not competitive, however we can hopefully learn more about local suppliers. ( Are there still mackeral being caught in Cromarty?)
The method is not set in tablets of stone - you might have some ideas on how it might evolve. Maybe you would like sometime to do a brunch or lunch at yours? You might want to focus on an under 5`s do, a Burns supper or cook it all on the wood burner? If you don`t like the idea of all that cooking you might like to host a buffet where visitors bring locally sourced contributions?
Hopefully at the end of the day some of us will have a bit of fun-I intend to .
Just to start things off how about a big buffet at Glachbeg. How big depends on how good your harvest is and what we all take along. Date to be confirmed very soon.

Our neighbour caught mackerel in the Cromarty Firth about a month ago and distributed them around the neighbours. We did a swap with a cauliflower etc.

Our very first DINE AT MINE event will be on Friday 22nd October and not at
Glachbeg as originally suggested here, but at Maggie Dove’s
(Bayview, Jemimaville) from 7pm onwards (house is opposite the central PO in
Jemimaville) Bring a contribution made with local ingredients for the
buffet and BYOB. Maggie will kindly provide soup. Anyone welcome, you
don’t even need to be a member of TBI. Looking forward to a fun evening –
thanks Maggie!
