BI Footpath Group 'Walk with tools' North Kessock to Munlochy

18 February 2018, Starts: 10:30

The first meeting of Footpath enthusiasts is on Sunday 18 February 2018.  Join us at 10.30 for a 'walk with tools' from North Kessock to Munlochy.

During the walk and at lunch there will be opportunities for us to talk about what we hope we might tackle as local projects and draw up a priority list for regular walking or maintenance sessions.

The Allangrange Arms in Munlochy is closed for five weeks so its car park should be available for those wishing to park a car there.  If car-drivers meet there at 1000 am then some of the cars could LiftShare to North Kessock Pier, on the understanding that someone will return them to their car at the end of the walk.

For others the Sunday morning bus that leaves Cromarty at 0940 am stops at Munlochy at 1012 am and arrives at North Kessock Pier at 1022 am.  We plan to start walking at 1030 am.  The originator of the JoG Walk, Jay Wilson, will be walking with us.

Meet by Old Ferry Pier at North Kessock at 1030  and walk to Munlochy.   Bring some secateurs, loppers, or what you feel happy to bring if you wish to tame any obstacles we may find. The route is around 9 km (between 5 and 6 miles).  Hope to arrive Munlochy around 1330.  For return to Cromarty the bus leaves Munlochy at 1459.

Because the Allangrange Arms is closed please consider yourself invited to my house, Marowan, Munlochy after we reach Munlochy.  It can be reached by another mile of walk following the John o' Groats Way past Clootie Well and Shantullich, before a short detour to our house.  Alternatively you can drive from Munlochy to our house.  Map below.

Please be invited to eat your packed lunch with us and we will provide drinks.

The walk is here:  http://www.jogt.org.uk/stages/inverness-to-culbokie/

Contact for the event and further news:   If you would like to join us that day, please let me know. I will co-ordinate Liftshare.  If you are unable to join us but wish to receive further news about footpaths and how you could help, then again contact me.

If you have a perfect plan for dealing with footpath issues near where you live and need manpower then let’s hear what the problem is that needs attention.
