Visit to Findhorn

24 June 2017

Saturday 24 June    2.00

TBI members who came along to the Transition Scotland Get-together in Cromarty last September may remember Maria Cooper, a young woman based in Findhorn who recently represented Transition Scotland at a recent international conference of the Transition “hubs” – the body of national representatives who are gradually taking over the role of coordinating and leading the Transition movement from Transition Network.  Maria has kindly invited TBI members to Findhorn to see some of the social and practical work being done there, including the various gardens, community centre and gathering spaces, co-housing initiatives, wind turbines, the ecologically engineered sewage treatment plant, etc.  She will also share her impressions from the international Transition scene and is happy to discuss and hear your thoughts on our own Scottish context.

The visit will be on Saturday 24th June, meeting at the Park entrance at 2.00. Maria will lead a tour, and then we’ll break for tea (bring buns, biscuits etc. if you want!) and after that we’ll hear from Maria about Transition Scotland and other national hubs.  There will be time to have a look round under our own steam too.
